Training Plates With a Competition Look

Training plates are meant for daily volume: hundreds of drops a week in a busy club or garage. The 86 durometer rubber is slightly softer than Rogue's competition plates, which helps absorb impact. Unlike many training bumpers, these carry IWF approval and full color coding, so lifters get used to reading the bar by color exactly as they will at a meet. The steel disc keeps the plates relatively thin for a training bumper.

  • IWF color coding by kilogram
  • Calibrated to ±15g for accurate training loads
  • Durable rubber for high-rep work

Rogue Color KG Training 2.0 Plates (IWF) FAQ

Are these training plates IWF approved?

Yes. Rogue lists them as IWF approved, with the IWF logo on each plate.

How do training plates differ from competition plates?

Training plates use slightly softer 86 durometer rubber for daily drops. Competition plates use firmer 94 durometer rubber and a chrome-plated disc.

Can I drop these on a platform every day?

Yes. They are built for regular Olympic lifting on a proper platform or rubber flooring.

Can I mix these with LB plates?

They fit any standard Olympic barbell, but mixing kilograms and pounds on one bar makes the total hard to track. Most weightlifters keep their kilo plates on a dedicated bar for snatch and clean and jerk work.
