Buy Rogue Olympic Plates
If you want to buy Rogue Olympic Plates, you are choosing a classic: solid cast iron weight plates with a heavy-duty black finish and silver lettering, sold in pairs from 1.25 pounds all the way to 100 pounds. They are the plain, dependable iron plates that belong on a squat rack, bench press or deadlift platform in a home or commercial gym.
Every pair we sell is brand-new and ships free to the 48 contiguous states and Washington, DC. Pick exactly the sizes you need, from micro-loading 1.25LB plates to massive 100LB plates for heavy pulls.
Rogue Olympic Plate Sizes and Dimensions
Rogue Olympic Plates fit any standard Olympic barbell with 2-inch sleeves. The 45LB and 100LB plates share a 17.5-inch diameter, while the smaller plates step down in size so they stack neatly.
| Weight | Diameter | Thickness |
|---|---|---|
| 1.25LB | 5.0" | 0.4" |
| 2.5LB | 6.3" | 0.5" |
| 5LB | 7.75" | 0.6" |
| 10LB | 8.9" | 0.9" |
| 25LB | 10.9" | 1.4" |
| 35LB | 14.0" | 1.3" |
| 45LB | 17.5" | 1.3" |
| 100LB | 17.5" | 2.0" |
Material: cast iron. Finish: heavy-duty black with silver letters. Rogue lists these plates as not made in the USA.
Why Choose Cast Iron Plates?
Cast iron plates are thin, so you can load a lot of weight onto a sleeve. A 45LB iron plate is about 1.3 inches thick, far slimmer than a rubber bumper of the same weight. That makes iron ideal for squats, bench presses and deadlifts, where you rarely drop the bar from overhead.
- Space efficient: more weight per sleeve for heavy powerlifting.
- Durable: solid iron handles years of loading and unloading.
- Precise progress: 1.25LB and 2.5LB pairs allow small weekly jumps.

Which Pairs Should You Buy?
A common home gym starting kit is two pairs of 45LB plates, one pair each of 25LB, 10LB and 5LB, and a pair of 2.5LB. Add 35LB plates for smoother jumps. The 100LB pair is a space saver for strong deadlifters who would otherwise need four 45LB plates per side. If you only need small plates, see Rogue Olympic Change Plates. Rogue Olympic Plates FAQ
Do Rogue Olympic Plates fit a standard Olympic barbell?
Yes. They are made for standard Olympic barbells with 2-inch (50mm) sleeves, the type found in nearly every US gym.
Can I drop cast iron Olympic plates?
Iron plates are not designed to be dropped from height. For Olympic lifts or overhead drops, use rubber bumper plates on a platform.
Are the 100LB plates the same diameter as the 45LB plates?
Yes. Both are 17.5 inches in diameter. The 100LB plate is thicker at 2.0 inches, so the bar height off the floor stays the same.
